The skirt is attached to the rig with exterior grade 2″ polyester Velcro that is uv and mold resistant. The Hook side (rough side) has an adhesive that holds securely without damaging the rig.
Snaps and turn snaps can come loose or come out completely, leaving a hole in the rig allowing for water to penetrate into the walls or floors. Turn snaps and snaps can also be very difficult for weaker hands to attach.
Remove the piece of Velcro that is loose, clean the surface and apply another piece. Velcro is available in our online store and will have instructions on how to prep the surface.

The soft side of the loop is sewn onto the vinyl, with very heavy polyester thread using a commercial sewing machine.

In short, No. It is very strong.

If the skirt has been put on correctly with no openings, and has the proper weight, it will not blow around. Extreme wind…35+ miles per hour could shift the weights holding it down. If that happens, move the weights back when the storm has passed.

There are a few benefits, the most common is heat retention or cooling. The wind can strip a lot of heat away from rigs, allowing for very cold floors and frozen pipes. If the skirt is properly sealed, a 10-15 degree difference in temp can be seen under the rig. Also the humidity is reduced under the rig as well.
Hidden storage, like seasonal items or a freezer can sometimes be put in the fifth wheel enclosures.
